The GC Director of Education Dr. Lisa Beardsley, and her assistant Dr. John Wesley and Dr. Frank Hardy on Sunday April 24, 2016 took time to address a joint session of administrators, faculty and staff of the University of Eastern Africa, Baraton. This was immediately after hosting a West Kenya Union Teachers Conference in Kamagambo Teachers College (April 19 – 23, 2016).
According to the contemporary challenges facing the University the GC Education Director encouraged the university leadership to remain steadfast as the Lord was on their side. It is not necessarily the issue of enrolment which determines the success of an institution but rather the quality of services rendered. The church is seriously at crossroads because the desire for Christian Adventist education is declining in spite of the increasing church membership. The church members must give promptly to Adventist education as this the future of the church. “YOU WILL BE THE HEAD AND NOT THE TAIL” Deuteronomy 28:13. “Seek ye first the Kingdom of God, and all these things shall be added unto you” Matthew 6:33.
In order to increase enrolment, what is central is the delivery of quality academic programs, Dr Wesley concluded.
